Q1. Can I register as a medical expert without having
any prior expert training?
Yes. You are eligible to register with our company if you hold
GMC registration and a basic medical qualification like MBChB.
Q2. Which doctors are eligible to be medical experts
and can register with UKMLC.
All doctors like GPs, registrars, staff grades and consultants
etc. are eligible for registration and can act as medical experts.
Q3. As a medical expert can I notify with regards to
my relocation and waiting times etc?
Yes. This is very important that UKMLC has up-to-date information
about its experts including any changes thereafter. Please do
this either online by updating your expert profile or in writing/telephone
to our office.
Q4. When would you like to have a medical report after
examination of the claimant?
As soon as possible but not later than fourteen days from the
date of examination unless otherwise specified.
Q5. Are medical records necessary before preparing a
medico-legal report?
In most medical reports, the review of medical records in necessary.
However, at times, an initial medical report is requested based
on the consultation and examination only.
Q6. As a medical expert how much I would be paid and
when?
This is variable and depends on your standard fee. This is negotiable.
We normally pay our experts after 6 months from the date of medical
reports.
Q7. I was injured in an accident and can I register with
UKMLC to initiate personal injury claims?
Yes. If you were injured within the last three years
you are eligible to register with UKMLC.
Q8. As an injured person can I seek legal assistance
through UKMLC?
Yes. Once you are registered we値l contact the suitable law firm
to initiate your claim.
Q9. We are a law firm and would like to register with
UKMLC. Please tell us how can you assist us for seeking a medico-legal
evidence in personal injury claims?
On your registration with us, you値l furnish us the details of
your clients. We値l do the rest. We値l provide you with the names
of three appropriate experts in the suitable geographical area
for your approval. We値l also provide you a brief CV of the nominated
expert. We can also assist you by securing medical records, making
appointments and keeping you informed about the progress of your
clients.

to carry out medico-legal examinations on our insured client for
personal injury/medical negligence claims. How can you help us?
You are welcome to directly register with us. We壇 be
happy to arrange appointment and medico-legal examination by our
medical experts. We値l also secure appropriate medical records
etc. for your client on your behalf. We値l send you copies of
medical reports for the settlement of the claims initiated.
Q11. Can you help our injured clients (claimants) in
terms of investigation and treatment?
Yes. We have suitable arrangements in place to provide high quality
of medical care for your injured clients on priority basis and
on competitive rates. However, this is not our main service.
